Nanoscale stripe-type phase separation of antiferromagnetic order and superconductivity in K0.75Fe1.75Se2

چکیده
We report an in-plane optical spectroscopy study on the newly discovered iron-selenide superconductor K0.75Fe1.75Se2. The measurement revealed the development of a sharp reflectance edge at very low frequency below Tc on the relatively incoherent electronic background. The phenomenon was explained as arising from the Josephson-coupling plasmon of superconducting condensate. Together with the transmission electron microscopy analysis, our study yields compelling evidence for the presence of nanoscale stripe-type phase separation between superconductivity and magnetism.

Nanoscale phase separation of antiferromagnetic order and superconductivity in K0.75Fe1.75Se2
We report an in-plane optical spectroscopy study on the iron-selenide superconductor K0.75Fe1.75Se2. The measurement revealed the development of a sharp reflectance edge below Tc at frequency much smaller than the superconducting energy gap on a relatively incoherent electronic background, a phenomenon which was not seen in any other Fe-based superconductors so far investigated. Furthermore, th...
متن کاملAntiferromagnetism and phase separation in electronic models for doped transition-metal oxides
We investigate the ground state properties of electronic models for doped transition-metal oxides. An effective t J like Hamiltonian is derived from the case of strong Hund coupling between the conduction electrons and localized spins by means of the projection technique. An attractive interaction for conduction electrons and an antiferromagnetic coupling of the localized spin are obtained. A l...
متن کاملDirect evidence for charge stripes in a layered cobalt oxide
Recent experiments indicate that static stripe-like charge order is generic to the hole-doped copper oxide superconductors and competes with superconductivity. Here we show that a similar type of charge order is present in La5/3Sr1/3CoO4, an insulating analogue of the copper oxide superconductors containing cobalt in place of copper. The stripe phase we have detected is accompanied by short-ran...
متن کاملSlow Fracton Modes in Antiferromagnetic Correlations of High-t C Superconductors
(Dated: December 7, 1999) In cuprate superconductors superconductivity develops as a unique crossover between the two extremes characterizing these compounds, an antiferromagnetic (AF) Mott insulator phase, on one side, and a non-superconducting itinerant metal on the other. The hole doping tunes a cuprate inside such a broad spectrum of phases. Numerous inelastic neutron scattering studies on ...
متن کاملThe phase - separated states in antiferromagnetic semiconductors with polarizable lattice
The possibility of the slab or stripe phase separation (alternating ferromagnetic highly-conductive and insulating antiferromagnetic layers) is proved for isotropic degenerate antiferromagnetic semiconductors. This type of phase separation competes with the droplet phase separation (ferromagnetic droplets in the antiferromagnetic host or vice versa). The interaction of electrons with optical ph...
